Four Rules of Number Part 2: Multiply and Divide
When it comes to multiplying, there are two main steps:
1. Learning all your times tables
2. Learning Long Multiplication
1. Learning all the times tables up to 12 is one of the most important skills to have. Even when you get to GCSE level, knowing your times tables is a big asset to have.

Division is perhaps the trickiest of the 4 rules to conquer. Division is normally learnt in stages:
We start with sharing:

Once you have your times tables in the bag, you can start using those multiplication rules for division:
Year 2 -
Division in 2, 5 and 10 times tables
Year 3 -
Division in 3, 4 and 8 times tables
Year 4 and upwards -
Division in times tables up to 12 x 12
