Monday 16th March's question was a place value question that always catches people out!
If 42 x 5 = 210
What is the answer to: 420 x 50?
Topic: Using Place Value
Answer: 420 is 10 times 42 and 50 is 10 times 5.
So, both numbers in the sum have been multiplied by 10.
So, we need to multiply 210 by 10, then by 10 again: 210 x 10 x 10 = 21000
